Sizes: S,M,L (34,38,40)"
Materials: bulky weight yarn, 10(11,12)ozs.
Sample was knit with LionBrand Jiffy yarn.

Bond Keyplate 4 or Bulky tension 8.
Gauge: 3.5 sts and 5 rows = 1"

*Bolero shown finished with crochet edge.  Knit edge directions also included.

1. With carriage on right, ewrap cast on 35(37,39)sts.  Row counter at zeros.
2. Knit 5 rows, then increase 1 st at each end. 
3.  Repeat step 2,  14(16,18) times more. RC = (75(85,95) 65(71,77)sts.
4.  Knit 2 rows, then  inc 1 st on each end.
5.  Repeat step 4,  2 times more. 71(77,83)sts. RC = 81(91,101).
6.  Knit 2 rows, ewrap casting on 10 sts at end of each row. (91,101,111)sts.  Rehang cast on comb or hem
7.  Knit to rc = 107(123,137)  Carriage should be on left side.
8.  Bind off 45(50,55)sts.
 

9.  Knit 46(51,56) sts for back to RC =  142(158,172)
10. Knit 1 row and ewrap cast on 45(50,55)sts  at end of row.
11. Rehang hem or cast on comb.
12. Knit to RC = 167(189,207).
13. Knit 2 rows, binding off 10 sts at beg of each row.
14. Knit 2 rows qnd dec 1 st at each end on last row.
15. Repeat step 14,  2 times more.
16. Dec 1 st at each end of row, knit 5 rows.
17. Repeat step 16 – 14(16,18)times more.  35(37,39)sts
RC =250(282,310).  Bind off.

Sew underarm and side seams.
To crochet edge: Using size K hook, work 1 row single crochet around both sleeve cuffs and around entire sweater edge.
Chain 1, work shell stitch as follows:
*Work 1 single crochet in next stitch, skip 1 stitch, work 5 double crochet in next stitch, skip next st, repeat from * around cuffs and sweater.   Weave in ends.
Alternate knit finishing:
Bring forward 95 needles for size small only and with wrong side facing, hang entire bottom edge on needles.  Knit 6 rows, then drop down every other stitch and relatch up to form rib. Bind off.
For size medium and large:
Bring forward 65(73) needles and with wrong side facing, hang back bottom edge on needles.  Knit 6 rows, then drop down every other stitch and relatch up to form rib. Bind off.
Bring forward 19(23) needles and with wrong side facing, hang one side of front bottom edge on needles, wrong side facing.  Knit 6 rows, then drop down every other stitch and relatch up to form rib.  Bind off.  Repeat for other side. Sew side edges of ribbing together.
For all sizes:  place a marker at center back neck.
Bring forward 54(60,66) needles and hang 1 side of the sweater, from center back to bottom front edge, wrong side facing on needles.
Knit 6 rows, then drop down every other stitch and relatch up to form rib. Bind off.  Repeat for other side.
Sew back neck edge together.
