Size to fit 38(40,44,46,50)" chest measurement.  Finished size; 39”(42,46,49,54) Should be fairly snug fitting.

Gauge: 4 sts and 5.5 rows = 1" keyplate 3 dot  or bulky tension 6. 
 
Materials: 1 oz. worsted weight yarn.  Sample knit with Red Heart yarn.

 

Back
1. Open cast on with waste yarn, 79(85,93,99,107)sts.
2. Knit a few rows.  Change to main yarn.  RC = 0
3. Knit to RC=40 Place a marker at each side to mark armhole.
4. Knit to RC = 91(91,97,97,103).  Cut main yarn.  Back stitch bind off center 25(27,31,33,33)sts.
5. Change to waste yarn and knit a few rows on each shoulder.  Remove from machine.
6. Wrong side facing, rehang back on row 1 above waste yarn, decreasing 5 stitches evenly spaced.  Knit 5 rows. 
7. Drop down 5 rows, every other stitch and reform to make ribbing.  Bind off.  Pull lengthwise on ribbing to set stitches.
Left front
8. Ewrap cast on 27(29,31,33,37)sts. RC = 0.
9. Knit to RC = 132(132,138,138,144)(Yes, this is the correct row count). Place marker at 1 side to mark armhole.
10. Knit to RC = 180(180,186,186,192).  Cut main yarn and knit a few rows with waste yarn.  Remove from machine.
Right front
11. Repeat steps 8 through 10, placing armhole marker on opposite side.
12. Knit shoulder seams together.
Sleeves.
13. Bring forward 60(64,68,72,80)needles on machine.
14. With wrong side facing, pick up stitches between armhole markers and place on machine, evenly spaced. RC = 0.
15. Dec 1 st each side every 7(7,6,6,5) rows 10(10,12,12,15) times.
16. Knit to RC = 80.  If you would like a rib edge, knit another 6 rows  Bind off.
17. Sew side seams matching back side to front side and leaving the excess of front hanging down.
18. Sew sleeve seams.   Weave in any ends.
19. We lightly steamed the garment  so the knitting relaxed a bit.

If you do not like curling edges, you can work crochet around the entire neck and tie ends.
